LetsClarifAi exists to help children learn — which means we hold something precious: information about your child. We treat it the way we'd want our own family's data treated. This policy explains, plainly, what we collect and why.

01Our promise on privacy

We collect only what we need to teach your child well, remember their progress, and keep the Service safe. We never sell your family's information, and we never show advertising to children. Everything below flows from those three commitments.

In one line

We use your child's information to teach them, not to profile them for anyone else.

02Who we are

LetsClarifAi is a product owned and operated by WeSimplifAI Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India ("WeSimplifAI", "we", "us"), which provides 1-to-1 Online Teachers for children in India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we act as the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach our Privacy Officer using the details in the final section.

03Information we collect

We collect the following, always with a clear purpose:

Information you give us

  • Parent / guardian details — your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, and billing information for your subscription.
  • Child learning profile — the child's first name, age or class, board (CBSE / ICSE / State), and preferred language.
  • Session content — what your child says, types, draws, and answers during a session, including recordings or transcripts where applicable, so the teacher can respond and remember your child's learning progress.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage & device data — session times, features used, approximate location from your IP address, device type, and browser, to keep the Service reliable and secure.
  • Cookies & local storage — small identifiers that keep you signed in and remember preferences (see the cookies section).

We ask for as little as possible. We do not seek sensitive information such as religion, caste, or health beyond what a family volunteers to help a lesson land well.

04Children's data & parental consent

Our learners are children, so this section matters most. Under the DPDP Act, we process a child's personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. That is why an adult must create the account and accept our Terms before any session begins.

  • We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children.
  • We do not knowingly process a child's data in a way likely to cause them harm.
  • A parent can review, correct, or delete their child's information, or withdraw consent, at any time — see "Your rights & choices".

If you're a parent

You are in control of your child's account and data. If you withdraw consent, we will stop processing your child's personal data for the affected purposes and, where you ask, delete it — subject to any records we must keep by law.

05How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Deliver sessions and let the teacher greet your child by name and pick up where they left off.
  2. Understand where a child is confused, and adapt explanations to help them.
  3. Share warm, honest progress updates with you as the parent.
  4. Process your subscription, prevent fraud, and provide support.
  5. Keep the Service safe, secure, and working, and improve how our teachers teach.
  6. Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We process personal data only where permitted under applicable law, including on the basis of parental consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, or other lawful grounds under the DPDP Act.

06The teacher's memory

A defining part of LetsClarifAi is that the teacher remembers. To make that real, we keep a record of your child's learning — the concepts they've met, where understanding slipped, and what clicked — so each session builds on the last rather than starting from scratch.

This learning memory is used only to teach your child and to show you their progress. It is tied to your family's account, is never sold, and can be reset or deleted at your request.

07How we share information

We do not sell your family's personal data. We share it only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers ("Data Processors") — trusted partners who host our systems, process payments, send messages, or provide the AI infrastructure behind our teachers. They act only on our instructions and under contracts that protect your data.
  • Schools & academies — if your child is enrolled through an institution, we share progress information with that institution as agreed with them.
  • Legal reasons — where we must comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the safety of a child or others.
  • Business changes — if our organisation is restructured, the same protections in this policy will continue to apply to your data.

Some features rely on trusted AI service providers acting as our Data Processors. These providers process information solely to provide the requested educational functionality and under contractual safeguards.

08Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and local-storage identifiers, of two kinds: essential cookies that keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and analytics cookies that help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies directed at children. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without the essential ones.

09How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and staff limited to those who need it — to protect your family's information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe, and we will notify you and the relevant authority of a significant breach as the law requires.

10How long we keep information

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law — usually for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period afterwards. When you close your account or withdraw consent, we delete or anonymise the data, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing) to meet legal obligations.

11Your rights & choices

As the parent or guardian, and under the DPDP Act, you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and your child.
  • Correct or update information that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Erase your child's data, or reset the teacher's memory.
  • Withdraw consent for future processing at any time.
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf, as the DPDP Act allows.
  • Complain to us and, if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these, write to us using the details below. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law.

12Where your data is processed

We aim to process your family's data within India wherever practical. Where data is processed outside India through our service providers, we ensure appropriate contractual and technical safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable Indian law.

13Changes to this policy

As we grow and improve, this policy may change. When we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you directly. Please check back from time to time so you always know how your family's information is handled.
